The Front and Back Sides of a Chain

Did you know that a chain has a front side and a back side, too?
This tip will come in handy whenever you crochet something. I always crochet in the back bump of
the chain when starting something from a chain. Why? I'm glad you asked!
The front side of a chain doesn't look much different than the top of a single crochet.
It's just a flat version of a single crochet. It still has two loops:
The back side of a chain only has one bump:
When you crochet in to that, whatever you are working on looks finished on both sides!
The proof is in the pudding... Here is the front side of that starting
chain after you crochet a row!
And here is the back side. It looks the same! How sweet is that?
